Paul is in seventh grade at a new school in Florida. A talented soccer goalie despite his being legally blind. Labelled handicapped by his new school, he decides to transfer to a different one, deciding he needs to try and keep his legal blindness a secret in order to play on the team. Despite the school's bad reputation, personal troubles at home and problems with his football-hero brother, he finds a niche within his new team. Fast-paced, thrilling and climactic, Tangerine pulls no punches when it comes to addressing amorality, family ties and the difficulty of living with the label of disabled.Paul is a protagonist to remember.
